1st Detox Green Juice

Dee and I decided to join forces and buy a juicer. After hours and days of searching online, we finally ordered the Omega NC900 masticating juicer. We got it today and wanted to test it out, so we made the recipe by Dan McDonald I had posted on my timeline earlier this past week. Boy did it come out good. This was Dee's first homemade green juice, and her body was tingling with appreciation from head to toe. A great way to start the new year!

This juicer is a slow juicer, conserving a hefty amount of nutrients in a form that is electrically charged. Many other juicers can spoil nutrients by oxidizing them, leaving the juice to be deprived of life energy - the force that rejuvenate your cells and helps them detox (clear wastes).

Basically, the ingredients are;
  • Whole batch of Celery
  • Half a bundle of Cilantro*
  • Half a bundle of Dill*
  • A Whole Cucumber
  • A Whole Lemon
  • 3 Large Kale Leafs
  • Turmeric (Pinky finger long)
All Ingredients are Organic.
*Amount of Cilantro and Dill dependent on size you bought. They can sometimes come in large bundles or small ones.

We had to cut the lemon into quarters and the cucumber as well.
All other vegetables were just fine being fed into the juicer.

The juicer has a neat look, and the auger is able to grab onto many of the vegetables we fed it and pull them in (auto-feed). We had to reverse the auger at least twice in order to get some stubborn vegetables to keep going in.

Cleaning was easy.
Pulp came out dry.

With the amount we juiced, we ended up having
at least another third quart left after drinking a cup or so each.

We stored it in a mason jar in the fridge.

Loving it so far :)
Enjoy the photos...!

  1. Thank you for this post! I have been tossing a few juicers back and forth wondering which one to get. I just have a Jack LaLanne that was around $100 a few years ago. It's great to start but I think I was left wanting...ANYHOW...I found your direct URL in an old Dan McDonald video and thought I would visit. So glad I did :) I will check out your other posts, too!

    1. Hi Jennifer,

I'm happy you checked our blog out. We have been making juice like crazy ever since. Has been helping Deanna on her detox. We are happy with this juicer. :)

I checked your blog and enjoyed reading it a bit. I had just finished reading Matt Monarch's book Raw Success about 2 weeks ago. Your journey sounds great!

      Blessings,
      Joel

    1. Yes, that is true. That is why I use a masticating juicer to do all my juicing - the least oxidation.
